DOUBLE TRAGEDIES AS ANENIH AGAIN LOSES A SON

Pale death, with impartial steps, knocks at the huts of the poor and even the towers of kings.’ These immortal words of Roman poet have dawned on the family of Chief Tony Anenih, former Chairman of the Board of rustees, (BoT), of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as he just lost his son, Eugene, to the cold hands of death, sadly so when Chief Anenih’s wife, Patricia, and mother of Eugene, who also died weeks back, is yet to be interred. It is indeed double tragedy for the Anenih family and this is certainly not the best of times for the veteran politician, Tony Anenih, from Edo state. 

The poor chap met the ultimate terminator yesterday, while the family was still mourning the death of his mother Patricia, 74, whose burial arrangements were still being planned, only for the sad news to come to the shock of many, that Eugene slumped and died, while playing his favorite game of lawn tennis at the Ikoyi Club in Lagos.

Until his death, he was the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Nova Finance & Securities Limited. With over 15 years experience in Investment Banking, Eugene was formerly the Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury Operations at A and Hatman Ltd. before moving on to Nova Finance & Securities Limited as Chief Executive Officer.

He was an authorized Dealing Clerk of the Nigerian Stock Exchange and an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers. Eugene holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Biochemistry from the great University of Benin. He also attended the Program for Management Development (PMD) at Harvard. An alumnus of the Harvard business School, he also attended several courses in Capital Market at local and international levels, including Capital Equity appraisals suite courses with the New York Institute of Finance, New York, and also courses in Strategic Valuations on Equities with Euromoney.

Before his untimely death, Eugene led Nova Finance & Securities Limited on several issues in advisory roles and primary market just to mention but a few.
